Dr G McFarlane (f)

BSc (Pharm), MR Pharm Soc, MBBS, MRCGP, DCH, DFFP, DRCOG London 1995 (GP Partner )

"I qualified in Pharmacy from Brighton University in 1989 and medicine from St Bartholomew's Hospital in 1995. I spent my medical elective in 1994 in Australia with the flying doctors. Since qualifying I have had experience in A&E and orthopaedic medicine prior to joining the practice in April 2001."

Dr V Bortey (m)

MBBS, MRCGP (GP Partner)

I graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 2006 and worked as a doctor in various specialties including cardiology, orthopaedics, A&E and genito-urinary medicine over the years. I qualified as a GP in August 2013 and have been working at SMC since. In my spare time, I play basketball to keep fit and help stay relaxed.

Dr Steed (f)


Originally from Hertfordshire, I graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2009 before completing my GP training with the South Birmingham VTS scheme in 2014. I then moved to London where I worked at an inner city practice for just over a year until joining Studholme in January 2016. I have diplomas in child health and family planning and have interests in sexual health and mental health.

Dr P Tharamarajah (m)


I graduated from St. George’s Hospital Medical School in 1996 and worked in the hospital emergency and surgical specialities. I completed my GP training in Derby and joined Studholme in April 2016. I practice minor surgery and related procedures within the surgery.

Dr C Mathew (m)


I qualified from Sheffield Medical School in 2008, after my foundation years I  joined  the Windsor VTS scheme to complete my training in General Practice. During my training I worked in various specialities including, Cardiology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Accident and Emergency, Paediatrics and General Practice. I worked as a GP in the Slough area for 4 years and joined Studholme Medical Centre in May 2016.

Dr C Hodges (f)

BSc, MBBS, MA, MRCGP (2012), DCH

I completed a 3 year pre-clinical medical degree at Oxford University before moving to UCLH where I continued my studies and graduated in 2007. I undertook my GP training at St Mary's Hospital and since then have worked in central London as a salaried GP before moving to Studholme Medical Centre in September 2016. I have a diploma in child's health and an interest in mental health.

Dr L Norman (f)


 I trained in Southampton and qualified in 2008. I worked as a junior doctor in Southampton and Bournemouth Hospitals and then Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Kent in specialties such as A and E, Medicine, Colorectal surgery and Urology. I then started the Tunbridge Wells GP training scheme and worked in ENT, Paediatrics and Obs and Gynae and qualified as a GP in 2015. I worked in a practice in Tunbridge Wells and I recently moved to St Margarets, Twickenham and hence started my job at SMC. I have a keen interest in sport and like to run in my spare time.


Dr J Guo (f)


I started medicine as a Paediatrician before becoming a GP in 2011. I enjoy all aspects of general practice including family planning where I fit coils and implants within the Practice.

Dr B Chawla (f)


I trained in Hull York Medical School and graduated in 2011. Following my foundation years I studied at Queen Mary, University of London and completed a Msc in clinical drug development. I joined the Brighton VTS scheme to complete my GP training and then joined Studholme Medical Centre. I cover ear wax removal within the Practice.

Dr N Bains (f)


I trained at St. George’s Hospital Medical School in London and qualified in 2011. I spent my junior doctor years working in London before moving to Hampshire to undertake my GP training.

During my training, I have worked in various specialities, including A &E, Orthopaedics, General Practice, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Oncology and Psychiatry. After completing my GP training, I re-located to be closer to my family and joined Studholme Medical Centre.I have a diploma in women’s health but enjoy many aspects of General Practice.
