About Us
Practice
History
Studholme Medical Centre is a seven partner, twelve GP practice caring
for approximately 15,500 patients. We practice from a
large Edwardian house in the very centre of Ashford,
Middlesex which was built for the West End Gaiety Girl
star Mary Studholme. There has been a GP surgery on this
site since the First World War and the Group Practice,
one of the first in the country, was established in
1948. The surgery premises have been modernised
internally and extended at the rear to provide
comprehensive GP services as well as car parking
facilities for attending visitors.
We have been a recognised Training Practice for over
forty years and usually have a GP registrar in
attendance for their final training stage before
becoming an independent GP. We also occasionally teach
medical students. Your co-operation with our teaching
commitment is always appreciated, but not mandatory.
Most patients find the process very rewarding.

Training doctors,
nurses and students
As a result of the high standards of clinical care and
education we offer, this practice is accredited as a
training practice for the training of doctors, nurses,
medical students and nursing students. We often have a
GP registrar working with us. The GP registrar is a
qualified doctor.
You will be informed if your doctor or nurse has a
student. If you prefer the student not to be present
during your consultation, please let the receptionist,
doctor or nurse know.
Video Recording
As part of our training and commitment to improving our
service, we may video consultations. However, your
consent will be sought before this is done, and if you
do not wish your consultation to be recorded on video,
we will respect your wishes. Intimate physical
examinations will not be recorded and that the camera
must be switched off on request.
National Health
